Project #9

Hello again all!

Welcome to 2012 and all that jazz. I hope everyone had a pleasant holiday and are now back on their regular schedules. Its been a long time since I’ve put up a project so we’re going to go with something hopefully fun and not too difficult. This week’s project is going to be a Radio Station Logo. Let’s look at the requirements:

  • Typical radio station naming convention ex: CFEP, Seaside FM, 97.5 FM
  • Full Color
  • Design should try and reflect the type of music it plays.
  • Logo-ish. You know what I mean.

Alright so thats it. Again you guys have a week from today to complete and hand in your project to artfromthemachines@gmail.com with a little blurb about your logo, and your name and website or whatever you would like on the credit of the image.

Thanks guys.

Holiday Hiatus

Hey everyone, due to the holidays approaching, a few people have contacted me and said that they can’t complete many of the projects because there is lots of stress, planning and traveling going on in their lives right now. So I’ve decided to have a Holiday Hiatus pause, and we will resume projects in the new year. If over the holidays you wanna keep those design skills sharp, feel free to send me any of the projects that you feel like completing.

Thanks everyone for your support. Happy Holidays.

Project #8

Hey gang, If you’ve been paying close attention you’ll notice there have been a few weeks where there haven’t been any posts or projects. If you haven’t noticed, then whatever, screw you. IF YOU HAVE though, it’s because I was away on vacation for a week and got debilitatingly sick on the last day and have been fighting that same sickness since. I am getting better, but not all the way yet.

Fear not, loyal artists, we do have a project for this week! In the spirit of vacation and holidays, this weeks project is a Tourism Poster!

Requirements:

  • 8.5 in x 14 in (Wacky Size)
  • Real or Fictional Place
  • At least 3 photos
  • Some copy “selling” the place

Woo woo! Have fun!

Project #7

Good Tuesday All!,

I’m not going to try and pretend that it was really late on Monday night that I posted this. I was sleepy and remembered at the last minute, but it was too late. I was already in bed. Regardless, this week will be a little more on the illustrative path. You will be creating your own MONSTER destroying a city. I do this little project with the kids when I teach Graphic Design at Ross Creek and they love doing it. I know you guys aren’t kids, but I actually had a great time creating my example for the kids.

So requirements will be a little loose.

  • Needs to be on a city skyline photo (theres lots of easy to find stock photos)
  • Don’t worry about making it huge for print, this is really a fun, web-only image.
  • Go Nuts! Tentacles, lazers, maybe there are two monsters fighting?

Here is an example of one that I did for the camp:
